could someone please fly me to venice...not only for the canals and the all around beauty of this city but for this installation by swiss artists, gerda steiner and jorg lenzlinger.

this space must have been a dream to install in...the white walls and the renaissance painted murals...ahhhh!
 
i love the sweet beauty of the viewers laying down on the floor and chaise.
 
another installation by these two artists, invasive species inside a shipping container turned into greenhouse.
 
plants are planted into found objects, like suitcases, bags, remote controls, via cup of coco.

out january 1st is the latest issue of stuffed magazine...and guess who's in it???

 why it's my bunnies and...

 my doggies! yeh! it's a real kick seeing your work in a magazine. thanks to stuffed for this treat! 

***to note, the articles states that both the dogs and bunnies will be available as patterns in my shop. i'm only offering the doggies at this point. they will be available in the new year. thanks!

aunt birdy is here to tell you that she is very disappointed in me... i said i'd get an update to my shop on friday and all i can say is this christmas season is just plain ol' kicking my butt! i just got my tree decorated today! UGH! please check back for updates soon!

renegade chicago

 
well, i'm back from chicago. it was...
 a good time, stressful, fun, hot (pulaski fieldhouse was cooking with all the people), a great learning experience (as this was my first big show), great to meet a ton of really nice people, an ego boost...
i didn't take many pictures (my life story) but the first pic features the back drop my woodworking hubby built and the sign we made last minute (a messed up the logo, d'oh!) the above pic is the left side of my table with a few new products; 'stache man pinback buttons, a brownie camera for eleanor, (oliver's camera was sold out on this pic), aunt biry inspired ornaments and blankets for the dollies.
here is the right side, with postcards and pinback buttons for the magnetic necklace...

 thanks needs to go to my hubby for dealing with my high strung ways leading up to the show and on the first day of the sale (oy vey!), my booth neighbors kathy and donovan of 16 sparrows who are not only super talented and nice but also watched my booth for potty breaks and finally for thanks to all the people that bought my stuff or complimented it, it means a lot to me to be supported not only through $$$ but also kind words.
 
 


 

thanksgiving

 
happy thanksgiving. i hope yours was as memorable as our friends pictured here (click the image to see all the fun)! ours was spent with friends and their family and the only oopsie moment was when baby o. crawling through my legs slipped and fell directly onto his face. bloody nose gush, screams and then all done...it was a lovely day

here are some of the unstuffed 'aunt birdys'. i'm making headway for renegade but still feel like i should be making more. i still have all my dolls and bunnies to stuff and sew close and tags to make and attach. here is wishing myself "god speed" and "lightening quick whip stitches!"

sugar sugar is now open in south minneapolis. joni did a great job with this space and it's sure to tempt anyone who requires a sugar fix. look! audrey got a watermelon sugar cube lolly, isn't it sweet! check it out, it's worth a visit!

renegade chicago or bust

 
i'm madly getting ready for renegade holiday sale in chicago, dec 5 & 6th! this is my first big craft show and i'm really excited about it!
 
i'm rolling out a few new items. this is prototype #1 of aunt birdy.
 
and prototype #2 of "crazy aunt birdy". she is going to have a hand bag full of "contraband" , stay tuned.... if you'll be in chicago that weekend, come say HI!
