smokin' 1950's style. you know...when it was glamorous and cancer-free! how i love thee (just the embroidery, not smoking). i am going to turn this into a 2 or 3 panel small wall hanging. i am perplexed as to the other two panels of fabric to choose. initially, i had chosen an amy butler (green coriander) and a hot pink flannel panel but i feel by using such a popular fabric by such a well-known designer it will somehow take away from the piece?
here is a wee bit of insight on how i came to create this little bit of stitched goodness...first came this picture from csa images for french paper
I love her penciled in eyebrows, her gaudy rings, her outlined lips- my guess is, her name is madge. i love the pistachio green background too! so i wanted to recreate the hand in stitches and feature a green and pink panel (1950ish palet). next a number of sketches (below, upper right is the winner) and viola, not quite finished but wanted to give a sneak peak on this work in progress. i would like to turn these into huge panels but not sure if the embroidery stitches would be bold enough to show up on such a grand scale?

Wow T~
You are soo talented. I should hire you to decorate my house when you get done with yours! I hate to do that kind of stuff.
