every now and again i come across an artist that i just want to spend a solid week with, seeing how they work and being their assistant. its funny i say that as i used to love watching my hubby throw pots (still do!) and i was his assistant, making glazes, unstacking the kilns...
 
these photographs are from french artist franck juery via automatism and i LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!! i can't get enough of the little girl in red tights with white sandals stepping on the house. to me, it evokes all sorts of memories.

anonymous photo project

this image is from camera #33 (somewhere in ontario) from the anonymous photo project which i learned about via poppytalk. a curious package is left in all different corners of the world waiting for a complete stranger to pick it up, shoot some photos and send it back to HQ in vancouver, bc. how exciting to see these cameras come back and discover what little gems are hidden on the film. you can become part of it too! just go to the site and click on participate. audrey at the beach

"audrey at the beach" is the newest little audrey doll. she is sporting a new navy and cream body suit and a summery, breezy cream skirt. i'm really loving, loving the striped blue fabric. i must get to folding my laundry as my mantra for the past two weeks has been "baskets are the new dresser". YIKES!

hang tags and doll skirts

j. took h. fishing yesterday and o. took an extra long nap so i had time to finally do some hang tags and address labels. i was going to order a custom stamp but kept getting error messages from the site. then i was going to gocco these but the expense and lining them up on a screen was not going to fly, so i printed them. my printer typically doesn't like cardstock but these worked wonderfully!

what to do when you can't decide what doll you want? the answer is now available in the shop! i've started selling the skirts separately, because every girl needs options! oh, i must thank design for mankind for a quick shout out about my embroidery series. happy wednesday.

fishing not sewing

this is a j. and h. fishing on sunday in a little creek behind our house. there are brook trout in this stream! j. caught a little one but put him back. it actually got to 70 yesterday and we grilled yummy steaks and chicken breasts. from this last sentence, i'm reminded of a book about making your blog better (i can't remember the title) but i think its something like "nobody cares what you had for lunch" -which i think is hilarious. as i'm sure many of us strive to make our blogs interesting reads and are forced to share mundane events like "yummy steaks and chicken breasts" because sometimes life just ain't that happening...

and i can't resist a pic of my littlest man outside. i'm a bad mom as he still has bananas around his mouth and myself? well, i'm sparing you all the pics of myself with broccoli in my teeth and dark circles around my eyes. we had company this weekend and h., o., and myself were all in the same bed. let's just say, a lot of tossing and turning and not alot of zzzz's.and no sewing....maybe this week...

the above little red house via elsie marley is from the neatest little blog called tiny buildings. the maker, sharon, constructs all sorts of little houses from paper scraps. i love these crazy ideas and then documenting them!

"little witch" is from spanish artist and blogger of forest eyes, raquel. she sells her original drawings on etsy and they are soooooo sweet!

more audrey dolls added to the shop! i love, love, love the skirt on her. it features red stitching and is soooooooo adorable! the house is suffering big time from my sewing. i fear i may need to find a riding vacuum cleaner to attack the layers of dog hair and dirt. spring is such a dirty time, with the snow melting and the muddy yard, yikes!

skirts, dolls, and messes

so many blogs feature these beautiful little corners in their homes, well here is mine! a beautiful mess (although j. would not say so!) this is in my dining room. i've been sewing dolls and skirts for over 2 weeks and progess is happening but never as fast as i would like. as an example; it took me a whole week to watch the movie "becoming jane". something always comes up; spilled juice, poopy diapers, puzzles to assemble, dinner to cook, errands to run. but progress, none the less.

on a more tidy note, i was featured today on coolmompicks.com. Thanks to Liz and her "mom" colleagues, it was a very nice write up! and i leave you with my favorite "beastie boy"! h. got this t-shirt from our good friends in DC. Thanks Z's. it's too cute. you can buy your own at little dudes only.
