oh how i love my "used a bit" shop. run by area retirees who always make me smile + there is always a few vintage finds in the lot without the antique store prices. i bought an antique iron bed there a few weeks back for $35 and the other day i found this little gem hiding on a low shelf for $12 and all the keys work. sweet.
went to the mn zoo yesterday to "escape" the heat. h ran around the new "grizzly coast" water area. it is such a nice exhibit and i loved the water feature. kids were having a blast cooling off.
this bat was not at the zoo, no friends, this little creature was in our house the night before and found its way back but thankfully on the outside of the house (i'm sure it's the same one trying to get back in). this is # 7 or 8 on the bat count in our house that j. has had to chase away. YUCK! there is about 500 square feet of gutted space upstairs that we affectionately have nicknamed "the bat cave" because well, it seems that it is true.
