so i'm sewing red baby shoes today. finished pics will come tomorrow-promise! i went on etsy yesterday to check out the competition and of the 57 pages of baby shoes there were probably 10 pairs that were really cute. what are people thinking spending time knitting baby booties and then selling them for $5 ! YIKES. mine will not be that cheap. i also have an idea of selling these booties so you can display them in a shadow box because they are just so damn sweet (at least i think so) and look like little pieces of art. i just have to get my hubby to show me how to make frames. i leave you with a another link via camilla engman. the artist is asako masunouchi check out the 3D work, little matchbooks (the above pic) and mini people- good stuff!
no posts lately, blame it on the dull, misty weather, spring yukky, mukky thaw, chemistry in the brain what have you but so in a rut as of late. today this perked me up. found this little jem at my local book store looking for a b-day gift for a 4 year old girl and bought it for myself instead!
written and "illustrated" by Lauren Child the above is my favorite spread of the book.
its interesting how she uses her 2d illustration in her diorama scenes. its a very cute story and lovely little scenes. my one critique is the pics are a bit dark for my taste and thus gives it a sort of weird 1960's ish book feel...
here is the king and queen's bedroom, doesn't that bed just look cozy!
