artist laurie simmons photographs with such a strong melancholic feeling. she is one of the artists featured in the pbs's series, art 21.
 
i hate guns but seem to often be drawn to them in art. maybe i find that it takes away some of their power when used to create art? i respond to her early work in miniatures and dollhouses but she has many other pieces that are worth a peek.
