keeping busy

 
where have you been? well...i've been here but our internet provider only allots us so many gigs a month, we always run over and it is $$$. so no more you tube lego movies for super h. here's a little catch up...
mother's day welcomed me with blueberry cornmeal pancakes from marth stewart, try them! they were fantastic!
 
we spent the rest of the day finishing our garden, getting compost, dumping compost, shoveling, shoveling. we have it planted now so all we have to do is wait, weed, water and chase the neighbor dog away as he tramps on all of our hard work!
 
and last week i go to check on the kids after not hearing them for a few minutes and was greeted by this pile of crap thrown out of front closet. well...i thought, i have been meaning to get it cleaned and organized! timing is everything. thanks h. and o. for lighting the fire.
 
as i got to cleaning i decided now was the time to transform the space under the stairs into a little secret hideaway for the boys. i loved a space similar to this from my childhood. i even tried to make it my room but it was too scary. above is the before and (drum roll please)...
 
AFTER! i scrubbed the whole space down. layed down carpet tile and painted the walls white (although i wish i would have used a fun color). i plan on sewing more pillows for the space.
 
i'm obsessed with making it look just right and right now it's not right...but priorities terra, priorities! so the fort will have to wait...

It's looking real good on those pictures. Did you paint the walls, or put up wallpapers inside? It seems kind of dark, and that staircase seems ripe for a lot of head bumps. But I hope it's all safe now. Still, I'd like to know how you managed that!
